The house is placed on the plot respecting the 3 metres maximum approach to 3 boundaries, in order to achieve the greatest distance to the fourth boundary. This closes to the street façade and to the two side plots, opening up towards the back of the plot to take advantage of the views and the sunlight.
The house also seeks to adapt to the imposing natural environment that surrounds it, avoiding any intervention that might provoke a fragmented and small-scale reading. The unitary formalisation of the materials -natural stone from the country-, the composition of the openings -large and grouped together-, the layout of the accesses -concentrated on the same façade-, the formalisation of the roof -present in the volumetry of the building-, as well as the location and dimension of the porches and terraces seek to support this idea of achieving a single, unitary appearance.
The structure of the building is also designed according to the same principle.
A base links the garage, the porches and the access, acting as a continuous plinth. Above this base, the upper floor rests, rising up and becoming independent of the perimeter below.
The roofs are leaning, on two levels, with a single slope, but are volumetrically linked through the formalisation of a glazed enclosure that joins them to the façade, achieving the desired unique appearance.
As for the treatment of the boundaries of the plot, their definition varies according to the different requirements of the surroundings, being more opaque near the house, and becoming more permeable with the use of vegetation the further we move away from it, in the garden area.
