The building must collaborate in the coherence of the urban fabric where it belongs: this is why we follow all the lines that request it. The building will be seen, especially from the Civic Axis of the Campus, as a collaborating and shaping element of the emerging grid articulated around the Civic Axis. By the same principle, we understand that the access must be ineluctably linked to it.
The building is also part of the metropolitan reality, which it serves.
It will be seen from fast roads such as the Gran Vía, entering and also leaving the city and participating in the group of buildings that will progressively characterise this access to the city, the one with the largest metropolitan scale.
This is why we have taken the following decisions:
– To achieve a recognisable volume on a large scale, from a far distance, according to a rapid vision, at automobile speed, from the exit of the metro in the middle of the large present volumes.
– To make this large scale compatible with attention to the smaller scale.
The building, saving the maximum façade coefficient, optimising structures, concentrating and reducing circulations, arranges most of the rooms and flats in a single volume of maximum functional and structural rationality and optimal orientation.
The communal spaces are arranged on the ground floor according to geometries that want to collaborate in the configuration of a consistent urban grid. A crown-shaped organisation follows the layout of the plot and, at the same time, constitutes an organisation around a landscaped atrium that will allow daily activities to take place in a friendly setting.
