The proposal seeks to maintain the scale of aggregation of the housing in Sabadell. The typical “home body” may disappear in the future, but of course -as it can be seen now- it will have left a dimensional and scale framework to be considered in the organization of the new built front entering properly given in the existing city. It will also have left in addition architecture examples that will hardly be lost.
Do not try to imitate anything but working on rhythms and proportions that the city provides.
So the facade appears naturally as a whole, but also as an aggregation of elements you want to connect with those guidelines specific to the site.
The volume includes two scales, the largest since the large size of the windows wants to be well adapted to the large scale of the square, and other smaller scale in continuity with the closest facades and the mentioned formal framework characteristic of the city.
It is avoided with special care that the car access becomes the most important element of the facade. Controlling the size of the windows and entrances on the ground floor, the impact of the car access is minimized.
The entrance is the most significant part of the facade at a close point of view. It expresses the welcoming to inhabitants and visitors, which is identified with the experience of the building the related to the city. This way, all the community elements in the entry are emphasized as urban elements at the same time: mailboxes, doorbells, the electronic entry, the handyman, the names of the occupants, the carpet, the street number.
