The area belongs to the regular Cerdà plan framework, opening its front to the Meridiana Avenue, opposite to the National Theatre and the National Auditorium.
Because of the Meridian Avenue and a series of large-scale green spaces, it is also in continuity with the surrounding of Glòries, Agbar tower…
Diverse open-air railways occupy the N-W sector of the plot.
Housing: qualification, programs and housing dimensions to locate, respond to various headings (private promotion, public promotion, social promotion…), but seeks to ensure a uniform volumetric harmony of the place.
Sports Place: Barcelona City Council provides a sports place under the green area.
It remains always the will to achieve a dual role and double scale. Assuming the Cerdà plan framework, but also responding to the size, representativeness, and increasing centrality of the place. In fact, the plot is located, at the east side of Meridiana Avenue, right on the hinge between the continuous facade -from our plot to the Ciutadella Park- and buildings with specific or free volume- from our plot to the Glòries Square. It is important to emphasize that it is intended that the volumetric result should be acceptable in the urban scale, even when not all of the final conditions will be given: 1. Covering of the railway 2. Construction corresponding to eventual compensations for the covering of the railway.
