The renovation project of the existing building is divided into two clearly differentiated phases.
The first phase consists in the renovation of the house to adapt it to the client’s new programmatic needs, to modify the existing porch and to be able to have a larger living-dining room.
The second phase consists in changing the image of the building.
The reform is based on understanding the dwelling as a container for different uses in a spatially continuous surface. In order to define the new spaces required by the new programme of uses, the construction of an element was considered that would continuously develop in this unique space in a clearly identifiable manner.
This element is formalised as a partition in IPE timber board that allows the different installations and exterior enclosure systems to pass through it.
Perforations such as small or large windows allow this partition to be crossed to achieve certain views and relations between the interior and the exterior.
The choice of materials, the new external lattice of the windows, the change of colour of the façade and the new design of the access plinth achieve a more updated image of the building, a more stylised volume that blends in with the exuberant surroundings.
